Dear WPF Members,
Mark your calendars—our next Westchester Plumbing Foundation Membership Meeting & Dinner is happening on Wednesday, June 11th at T&J Pizzeria in Port Chester, NY! We’ve got a lot to cover, a great space to gather, and yes—plenty of food and drinks.
We’ve worked hard to keep this event affordable despite the inflation we’re all feeling. T&J came through with a solid deal—including beer and wine. Plus, there’s great parking available for everyone. And let’s talk about the food: we’ll have three appetizers on each table, and a buffet featuring six delicious main course options! You’ll have the chance to sample everything from veal, chicken, and fish, to steak, veggies, pasta, or potatoes.
We’ll be trying out different restaurants going forward so we can eventually rotate between 2-3 dependable spots that work for everyone.

WHAT’S ON THE AGENDA?
We’ve got some exciting developments to share, including a new pilot program with Viega. The Westchester Plumbing Foundation met directly with Viega representatives to kick off a certification initiative for plumbers in various Westchester municipalities to use MegaPress fittings. This is a big deal for those of us who’ve wanted to work with MegaPress system but have run into issues with permits. More info coming at the dinner!
OQ PROGRAM UPDATE
As many of you know, we’ve been working on setting up a room for the OQ practical exam here in Westchester. The OQ program is vital to our members and we understand that. We are determined to make the OQ process easier and more accessible. The room is ready to go on our end, but we’re waiting for approvals. We are committed to getting this room approved for Westchester County plumbers. We’ve hit some roadblocks, but we’re still pushing forward. We will keep you updated as soon as things move forward.
LICENSE LAW CLARIFICATION
We recently wrote Westchester County to request clarification on the new licensing law—specifically the updated definition of “direct supervision.” As many of you know, this language affects how licensed plumbers oversee their businesses. We’re seeking clear guidance so there’s no confusion in the field. We’ll share any updates we receive as soon as they come in.
VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION
Many of you have generously offered your time and stepped up to volunteer at events, meetings, and behind-the-scenes work. WPF is truly appreciative of everyone's effort. As we continue to grow and evolve, we’ll rely on that same grit, generosity, and sense of brotherhood to build something that truly works for plumbers, by plumbers. Whether it’s setting up chairs or setting the direction of the future, every bit counts—and we see you. This WPF only works because of the people who care enough to pitch in.
A big shout-out to Paul DaSilva, who has been instrumental in helping launch the Viega certification program. Huge thanks to John Royce, our “Code Father,” for all his time and effort in guiding us through much of this. And special thanks to Mark DiForio for organizing the venue for this event.
We can’t wait to see you there!
